The Policy at Hello, Mandarin!
-
Our policy applies to all classes. Hello, Mandarin would love to offer the best learning experience for children! By registering your child for class, you certify that you have read and understood our policy and agree to the terms.

-
Please be mindful and help us ensure a safe, productive, and enchanting learning environment for every child. Be sure to share this policy with all family members and caregivers that attend Hello, Mandarin with your precious child.

1
Tuition Payment
-
Payment in full is required to confirm the student’s enrollment and attendance in class.
-
Hello, Mandarin! offers a 5% discount for each additional full sibling registration.
2
Withdrawal / Refund
-
After registering, you may withdraw before the term begins and receive a full refund, minus a $30 registration fee. Withdrawal requests must be sent in writing to info@hellomandarin.org.
-
There will be no refunds for withdrawals or credits traded after completing the first class of each term.
3
Absence and Make-up Classes
-
Please keep the student home when the child does not feel well or is sick! Students must be 24 hours fever-free before returning to Hello, Mandarin!
-
Please send the email 24 hours in advance to info@hellomandarin.org if your child cannot attend class. Classes are deliberately kept small, and each child’s presence is vital to the group's balance.
-
Hello, Mandarin! would love to honor one make-up class per semester with at least 24 hours in advance notified by email before the class, subject to availability. Please note, we will do our best to accommodate make-up requests but cannot guarantee teacher, level, scheduling, etc.
-
Please note any class canceled within 24 hours cannot be rescheduled.
-
Make-up classes must be completed within the current session and do not carry over to the following session. Make-up classes must be scheduled in advance.
4
Parent/Caregiver/Sibling's
Participation & Responsibility
-
Following New York City Department of Health regulations, we ask that a parent or caregiver remain on the Hello, Mandarin! premises at all times; the caregiver is responsible for their child’s well-being.
-
Please sign out at the front desk if you must step away briefly. Leave your name and number in case of emergency.
-
For our students under two years old and all students not yet doing separation, we ask that attending parent/caregiver participate in the activities and songs during class.
-
We request that you step out of the classroom with your child if he or she becomes disruptive and re-enter when the child is calm.
-
Siblings may not join classes unless registered.
5
Waiting Area
-
Our waiting area is a quiet zone. Please help us maintain a peaceful and orderly environment so classes are not disrupted while in session.
-
Phone calls are not allowed in the waiting area and classroom.
-
Children waiting with a parent or caregiver during a sibling’s class must be fully supervised and occupied with a quiet activity.
-
Due to limited space, we welcome our students 5 minutes before and after class.
-
Please silence your cell phone.
-
Cell phone use in the waiting area is limited to text/email/silent streaming.
-
No cell phone use is permitted in the classroom.
6
Food / Allergies
-
We have students with different allergies! If you must eat at Hello, Mandarin!, please limit food to a light, tidy snack — no crumbs, no peanuts or tree nuts, no choking hazards.
7
Strollers
-
Please place your stroller against the wall by the window of Hello, Mandarin.
-
Please make sure to not block the entrance or sidewalk to pedestrian traffic.
-
Hello, Mandarin! is not responsible for strollers left outside.
8
Class Changes
-
A student may transfer out of a class during the session and into another class, subject to availability.
-
All group classes require a minimum of 3 registered students and are limited to a maximum of 6.
-
In the event that a class does not meet the minimum requirement of 3 registered students 14 days after the start of the session, the class will be canceled. Hello, Mandarin will work with each family to find a suitable day and time.
-
No refunds will be processed after the first day of the session.
9
School Closings Due to Weather Conditions
-
Hello, Mandarin is closed when New York City Public Schools close for snow or inclement weather.
-
Hello, Mandarin! does not offer makeup classes due to weather-related closings.
10
