What Will My Child Achieve?

While every child progresses at their own pace, you can expect meaningful growth across listening, speaking, reading, and cultural understanding. After our 4-year program from Nursery through 1st grade, most children have mastered over 800 Mandarin words. This level of growth assumes consistent participation — following instructions, practicing at home, and attending class twice a week.

Nursery–PK

Kindergarten–Grade 1

Grade 1 and up

Across all levels,
children develop:

  • Strong listening foundation, recognition of words and phrases

  • Ability to follow simple Mandarin routines

  • Joyful participation in songs, finger plays, and picture-book time

  • Growing speaking ability and confidence

  • Early reading skills (pinyin awareness, key characters, basic radicals)

  • Ability to respond to questions and routines in Mandarin

  • Expanding vocabulary and sentence building

  • Leveled reading with Joyreader for long-term bilingual development

  • Increasing independence in understanding stories and using Mandarin in class

  • Confidence in using Mandarin

  • A love for Chinese music, culture, and stories

  • A sustainable pathway toward real bilingual growth
