Hello, Mandarin! offers private piano lessons as a natural extension of our arts-based curriculum — because language and music have always been inseparable at Hello, Mandarin!

• Our piano teacher holds a Master's degree in Music Education from New York University. Lessons are taught bilingually, with the balance of Chinese and English tailored entirely to each family's preference and goals. 

• For students who are deepening their Mandarin journey, piano lessons offer a beautiful opportunity to further immerse themselves in the language — learning musical concepts, notation, and repertoire in Chinese alongside their instrument. 

• For families who prefer English instruction, or a mix of both, we are equally at home. All preferences are welcome — we adapt to what works best for your child.

• Many of our students study both Mandarin and piano with us, and perform together every semester at Lincoln Center, OPERA America's National Opera Center, and beyond.

Every semester, Hello, Mandarin! students — both Mandarin and piano — take the stage at some of New York City's most prestigious professional venues.

We don't just teach language and music. We raise performers — children who know how to stand in the light, command a stage, and share something beautiful with the world. We believe that performing in front of a real audience, in a real concert hall, builds confidence that no classroom can teach.

From their very first year, our students are held to a professional standard — and they rise to meet it, every time.
